Education Beyond 6th Grade

Greetings! I hope all is well in your universe.

As we approach the end of the year, I want to share a powerful reminder of what your generosity makes possible—and why your support is urgently needed right now.

This week, we’re highlighting one of our most transformative education initiatives: the University Scholarship Program in Santiago Atitlán.

During the recent visit from the Maya Educational Foundation (MEF) board of directors, Darwin, coordinator of the Sustainable Livelihoods Project, had his first opportunity to meet Natik’s university scholarship students. As a Maya from the Lake Atitlán region, his personal connection to their stories made the experience doubly meaningful for him.

"This was my first time learning about the scholarship program and meeting the students and the experience was especially inspiring. Their perseverance amid social, economic, and personal challenges, and their determination to pursue higher education was deeply moving. What shone through above everything else was their grit and stamina. Their dreams are bold. Their commitment is unwavering. This visit renewed my commitment and filled me with gratitude for being part of an organization full of humanity, effort, and hope." -Darwin

Darwin's reflections underscore an essential fact: your support is changing lives in real time. Every year of school leading up to these university scholarships was made possible by supporters like you.

When you give to Natik, you are part of the momentum that keeps these young leaders moving forward. You help ensure that opportunities that have been out of reach for generations are now a possibility. You invest in students who are not only transforming their own futures but strengthening their families and communities.

Together, we’re building something bigger than the sum of the parts.

Your generosity today will directly support the work our partners are able to accomplish all year long. Thank you for believing in what’s possible.

Let’s close the year with impact—and open the door to a brighter 2026!

Saludos,

Anita Smart
