This journey is for individuals who love art, textiles, and handmade crafts, and who are curious to learn directly from the communities and artisans who create them. It’s ideal for women traveling solo, with friends, or in small groups who wish to explore Guatemala through its markets, local art, and living cultural traditions. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy buying special-occasion gifts for for the rest of the year.

Location: Arrive in Guatemala City airport then travel to Santiago Atitlán Sololá. Overnight in Antigua in your way back to the airport

Location: Arrive in Mexico City airport and travel together to Tuxtla Gutierrez and on to San Cristobal de las Casas.

Immersion Highlights

Begin the journey with a warm group welcome, shared meals, and a guided walk through Antigua’s historic streets and artisan shops.

Explore vibrant markets and artisan communities in Antigua, Panajachel, Santiago Atitlán, and Chichicastenango, featuring handwoven textiles, traditional crafts, and local art.

Travel through the highlands to Lake Atitlán and experience daily life, art, and tradition in Santiago Atitlán and surrounding communities.

Engage with women artisans and community partners supported by Natik Esperanza, learning about traditional techniques and cultural meaning.

Engage with inspiring grassroots partners, local leaders, and families through thoughtful visits centered on learning, listening, and relationship-building.

Participate in a guided Mayan ceremony offering insight into Indigenous worldview, creativity, and personal energy.

Time for reflection, rest, and personal exploration throughout the journey. Meaningful engagement with Natik Esperanza and insight into community-centered work.
